Royal Challengers Bengaluru legend Virat Kohli returned to his vintage best against Punjab Kings on Monday, 25 March. Playing at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Kohli hit 4 boundaries in the first over of the match against Sam Curran. This was the first time that Kohli was seen in full flow, having struggled in the first match of the team against Chennai Super Kings.
Kohli had the stroke of luck on the day and was saved early in the innings after Jonny Bairstow dropped him in the second ball of the innings. Virat Kohli had edged the ball to slips off Sam Curran but Bairstow failed to grab a simple chance. From there, Kohli took on Curran and produced three back to back boundaries in the next three balls. Kohli displayed a couple of his sensational cover drives that split the fingers on the off side.
