Put into bat, Chennai Super Kings led by Shivam Dube (66) and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (69) powered their team to a competitive total of 206 for 4 in the Indian Premier League 2024 match agaisnt Mumbai Indians in Mumbai on April 14.

Chennai Super Kings opened with Ajinkya Rahane (5) and Rachin Ravindra (21) but lost Rahane with the score at 8. Rachin and Ruturaj Gaikwad added 52 runs for the second wicket.

Gaikwad and Shivam Dube joined together and smashed Mumbai Indians to all over the park and added 90 runs in just 8 overs.

Dube continued his onslaught and along with M.S. Dhoni took Chennai Super Kings to a competitive total of over 200.

Legendary M.S. Dhoni played some lusty blows and hit three sixes in the last four balls after the wicket of Daryl Mitchell.

Shreyas Gopal (1 for 9), Hardik Pandya (2 for 43) and Gerald Coetzee (1 for 35) were the wicket-takers for Mumbai Indians.

Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bowl first against Chennai Super Kings.

This match remains to be one of the most greatest rivalries in the history of Indian Premier League.

After winning the toss, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya cited dew factor could be a deciding first. The playing XI for Mumbai remains unchanged.

  

Chennai Super Kings Ruturaj Gaikwad also said he would have bowled first. He added “We are coming back from a win and expects to continue that momentum”.

Chennai Super Kings brought in Matheesha Pathirana in place of Mahesh Theekshana.
