MI and India batter Rohit Sharma made a hilarious request to the broadcasters to shut down the audio while recording him after his chat with Abhishek Nayar recently got viral. Notably, Rohit was involved in a conversation with KKR coaching staff member Abhishek Nayar after MI’s 13th fixture against Kolkata.
The audio of the chat which was posted by KKR on their social media handle was misinterpreted by the fans who assumed that Rohit is speaking about leaving MI after the ongoing season. Following the controversy, the video was taken down by KKR’s social media handle.

Few days after the incident, Rohit was once again seen having a fun chat with Dhawal Kulkarni ahead of MI’s fixture against LSG. Seeing himself being recorded, the opening batter joined his hands and requested the broadcaster to turn off the audio as one audio has already got him in trouble.
“Bhai audio band karo haan, already ek audio ne mera waat laga diya (Brother please close the audio, one audio has already made things difficult for me),” said Sharma in the viral video.
Meanwhile, in the ongoing IPL 2024, Sharma has had a mixed season having scored 349 runs from 13 innings at an average of 29.08 and a strike rate of 145.42 with one hundred to his name. The Nagpur-born cricketer started the season well scoring 297 in the first seven innings. However, his form dropped in the last six games he could only score 52 in the last six fixtures off 59 balls at a strike rate of 91.
MI’s forgettable season in IPL 2024
The 37-year-old scored just the second hundred of his IPL career during MI’s sixth fixture against CSK at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The opening batter scored an unbeaten 105* off 63 balls smashing 11 fours and five sixes. However, his innings couldn’t take his team over the line as MI failed to chase down 207 and lost the match by 20 runs.
Meanwhile, MI have had a terrible season in the ongoing edition under the leadership of their new captain Hardik Pandya. The five-time champions have managed to win just four out of their 13 games and are reeling at the bottom of the points table having eight points to their name.
